Macayo Vegas

Macayos is a Mexican restaurant that my mom and her siblings went to alot when they were young, it's also something that me and my cousins have grown up loving since it's been such a tradition with our parents. I think there are some in Arizona but the ones we go to are in Las Vegas (where my mom is from). They have way yummy thin, fresh tortilla chips and smooth red sauce, it's really lovely.
Apparently my mom and aunt (my mom's twin) were having cravings because they called me yesterday and said there were planning a "chip run". I thought it was a joke, but they were actually serious. Somehow i found myself in the car heading south this morning at 6:30am with them.
Yes, we drove to Las Vegas and back for chips and sauce.
Here are some pics:

This one is my mom and the TCT (toasted cheese tortilla) so yummy!

When we got back in my car it said it was 101*, but when we started driving around it was only about 87*, it felt SO nice to be so warm!

When we were re-fueling to head home there was this girl who was screaming at this guy about something nearly the entire time we were there. He made a swift getaway to the McDonald's across the street. She did continue to yell even though he walked away though. I thought it was pretty crazy, i tried to take a better pic of her but she was pretty scary so i tried to not make it obvious, this was the best i could get..

This is my Auntie Theresa sleeping :)

This was all the sauce they filled for us. We even dropped 2 bags of chips and one container of sauce to my Uncle Thomi in Provo. Well if you drive for 6 hours each way you have to buy enough to make it worth it!

My Mom & Auntie dividing the goods

To add the the craziness of the day, we had a bathroom stop in Filmore on the way back and I ran into one of my patients in the bathroom of Chevron! Of all the crazy places to see people you know!
It was a fun day though. I'm extremely exhausted so i think I'm going to turn in for the night. I'm just hoping our next chip run will be anytime too soon!

Now That They're Gone

It has been a week since the awful roommates moved out and I'm still in clean mode but it's very nice to clean and have things stay clean.
Our friend Dustin is helping to fix the burn marks that they burned into our table:

They didn't really fix the mess in the bathroom but cleaned most of it. The grout is most likely permanently stained and the walls were gross. It's looking alot better now that Mike deep cleaned it today. This is what the shower looked like before they moved out.

Parker is our only roommate now. I think Parker is great, i think this is because he is the same as me. He grew up with the same cleanliness expectations that i did. He is very clean. We like the same foods even. So he's one of Mike's best friends and he is like me, this is why he is the ideal roommate. He even loves Ando (he went with us to pick him out) and helps take care of him. If we could find other people who were like Parker we could have more roommates!
This is Parker. (He has some Ace Venture crazy hair in this pic.) We love you Parker!

Where's Ando?

I'm hoping not to see anymore snow this year but I thought i'd share yet another thing i hate about the snow. . Snow is white, Ando is also white. This means it is nearly impossible to locate him in the snow. He is quite aware of it too. You call his name and he freezes, you have to look quite close throughout the yard to pick him out, then when he moves it easier to find him again. This is a pic Parker sent me so you can see what it looks like when he's in the snow.

Coming Home...

Of course whenever we leave town I always have to prepare myself for what condition my house will be in when we return. The saying that comes to mind is: "When the cat's away, the mice will play". That is what happens, they completely mess up our house. The thing is, they don't clean before we get home. It's so bad. Then I have a meltdown, and Mike had to try to damage control. Here are some pics so you know what I'm talking about:

This is a shot glass from my sake set they broke

This is their random clothes and junk they let upstairs

This is all the stuff all over the counter top

They didn't do any dishes, which is a common occurrence, mostly when the dishwasher is full of clean dishes and no one wants to put them away. This time however, the dishwasher was empty, they were just too lazy to take care of them. Mike was the one who eventually did most of them, the casserole dish and yellow bowl are STILL sitting by the sink though, and have yet to be washed.

These were french fries that were around the garbage cans. Apparently they couldn't make it all the way to the garbage? And couldn't get picked up?
Our kitchen garbage was full, but not taken out. There are burn marks on our kitchen table. The counter tops on the bar were filthy sticky. I mean, seriously, its gross. I just have to remember that soon they will be gone. I cannot wait until this weekend when they are gone and i can clean my house and it will actually stay clean! 5 More days and counting!

Fabulous Las Vegas!

This past weekend Mike and I went to Las Vegas with Mike's family. We were going just for fun and sort of for Mike's Dad's family reunion. He said we had to stay just long enough to be seen. We ended up staying for a few hours, it was held at a park in Henderson. It was a nice sunny day (Saturday) but had a cold breeze. As things were wrapping up there was some people trying to tie some rope from one tree to another to make like a tight rope. They were having a hard time getting it tight enough and asked for some of our help. Here is Mike's brother, Braden, taking a turn walking across it.

Then it was off to In & Out burger. MMmmm. It's so yummy!

This is the car Mike's dad rented to drive to Vegas. Its a Chrysler 300M i believe. It has a huge trunk. It looks like a mafia car, which have big trunks for all the dead bodies! But ours just had luggage. The downside to this car was that the back seat wasn't awesomely huge. I had to sit in the middle, it had a hump on the floor in the middle so i couldn't even put my legs down, I had to put one on Mike's side and one on Braden's side. It was pretty uncomfortable! Fortunately, i took some non-drowsy Dramamine and read nearly the entire way which certainly helped pass the time.

We went to see 'Ka' at MGM Grand which is a show, sort of like Circus Ole. It was pretty good. The MGM Grand has a Lion Habitat which is pretty cool too. You can walk right under a tunnel-like thing that they lay on top of. It was really cool to get to see them that close.

Our show wasn't until 930pm so we decided to walk the strip for a bit before the show. I never get tired of seeing the water show at the Belagio. I think we stayed and watched 3 songs. It just makes you feel so peaceful, or something!
I just love it!

Sunday we went to the pool at our hotel (The Hilton) although it was too cold to swim or even lay out so we just hung out in the hot tub. Then we left to make our way home and stopped in St George. And had to have one more stop at In & Out! (You cant really ever have enough!)

This is Mike's Dad! He was excited about In & Out too!

Happy Birthday Cyn!

April 1st was my stepmom's bday. We celebrated at Tepanyaki.
