No Kids for Me

This last Friday I went to Glitter toes at Jen's and got home around midnight and went straight to bed, I was so tired! I woke up at about 2am to Ando itching and freaking out, so i put him outside to go potty and he just starts barking. I got really mad because I didn't want to piss off my neighbors so I was trying to pull on his chain and it cut the hell out of my pinky. (We are trying to get our grass to grow in the backyard so Ando gets to go in the front yard tied to a chain, its awful, he's so yappy!) So i get super mad at Ando and make him stay downstairs with Mike and Parker (who were still up playing computer) so i could sleep. Mike came up to bed at about 4am and was really worried about Ando. His eyes were all swollen, the insides of his ears were red and he had bumps all over his body.
My vet told me that white schnauzers can have more allergies (which the breeder hadn't heard of) and told me that i could give him children's benedryl if he ever had a problem. So Mike and I run to Smith's at 4am, then come home and have no idea how much to give him, so i just got about 1/2 teaspoon (Thanks to the syringe i got for the bird it was easy) and gave it to him. Then i stayed up for another 45 mins to make sure he didn't stop breathing or something. He woke up itching again at 8am so i called my vet, they told me to double his dose of benedryl and call back if it didn't help. Sure enough at 1130am he was itching like crazy again so we had to take him in. They gave us some antihistamine/steroid pills and he is totally better. He has deadly farts and drinks and pees a lot from the meds, but otherwise is just fine. I was so worried and sleep deprived from all the worrying. I don't know how all of you with kids do it! One night and I was a wreck! I just don't think I'm cut out for all that! So I'll just say NO to kids!

Baby Birdie

Last week Mike found a baby bird in our window well getting attacked by my neighbor's stupid cat, so he scared the cat away and rescued the bird. The problem was that we couldn't find his nest or mom anywhere and we certainly couldn't just leave him on the ground with the neighbors cat lurking around still so we put him in a box and ran to Petco to find something to feed him. $10 later I had a bag of baby bird food, a syringe, and strict, precise directions of how to care for baby birds. The girl said it was very hard to keep them alive and they need to stay very warm. So I was hopeful that I could give proper care until we could find a bird sanctuary to turn him over to. So i made him a little nest out of washcloths in his box, tried to feed him (which was impossible), and got my electric blanket on high and wrapped it around the box. My uncle (who use to raise falcons) said he was probably just too scared to eat so i should try in the morning. He did have matted feathers on his head from whatever trauma the cat caused him.
When i woke up the next morning and went to check on him, he was dead. I was so sad! I woke up Mike (I'm crying at this point) and he tells me that when he went to bed the night before (about an hour after I left the birdie) he was already dead. We both felt so sad and helpless. At least he didn't get eaten by the cat or drowned in the rain. I feel somewhat better knowing I did everything i could.

RIP Birdie

High School Graduation

At the beginning of June my mom and I flew to Oregon for my cousin, Kaylee's, graduation. It was a lot of fun and i got to spend time with my mom which is always fun. There was a lot of family there so it was nice to get to see everyone.

This is the crew that went on the jet boat tour down the Rogue River to Hellgate Canyon before graduation

This was a 2 hour tour down the Rogue River and back. You get to see lots of wildlife and once in the canyon you are just surrounded by rock walls that seem to go up forever. It was alot of fun. The driver can do 360's in these boats (which gets you completely soaked), something that would be nice on a day that was 85* but this particular day it was about 60* and raining. We were so wet and cold by the end we just ran to the car! It was a really awesome sight to see and the tour guide was hilarious!

Graduation was cute. The graduating seniors walked under arches made of flowers, and all the decorations looked really good!

Cheers to Kaylee!

My aunt has taken pictures of every year at the first day of school, it was really fun to remember her at each year, its amazing how much we all change during that period of life.

My cousin Ashlee and me. I don't get to see her much but got to spend the weekend with her which was a lot of fun!

Congratulations Kaylee!

Free Root Beer Floats!

Sonic was a madhouse on the free root beer float night. The cars were backed up clear into the street but the line moved pretty quickly. The girl that helped us was in such good spirits even though I'm sure she was just so swamped. She even let me take her picture. Thanks Sonic!

Up!

We went to see UP! the day it came out but were afraid that there would be a hundred screamin kids in the theater.. so we decided to go to the 3D latest showing and luckily hardly any screamin kids were there! It was an amazingly cute movie! The 3D was fun, but i did have a headache by the time it was over. 3D for the win though! It was so fun! I'm down for watching all the pixar movies i can in 3D.

Here's Parker, he had to wear his 3D glasses over his real glasses

An Echo in The Bone

I'm so behind on blogging! One day when i find my cable that goes from my camera to my computer i will catch up! But if anyone wants to know what i'd doing lately, its reading! I'm am totally addicted to The Outlander series. Book 7 in the series comes out 9/22/09. So i'm re-reading all the books to be able to start reading that one in order as soon as it comes out. And if you read any of these, you know that they aren't short! I have to read roughly 45 pages a day to stay on track. I'm already falling behind. I love them still, but i know what's going to happen, so i dont have the drive to read as fast as i did the first time. I am trying though! It's fun now because there are a few new readers that i'm trying to catch up with that are reading them so it's fun to get to experience it with them too! I think there is about 100 days left now! I cant wait!!!

Friends

If you know me well you know that I live at work. I am there without fail everyday, and i'm usually the last one to leave at night. (i wish i could say that i'm the first one there everyday too, but to Mike's dismay i'm not a puntual person at all!)
I love my job, dont get me wrong, but i am there an awful lot. I spend most of my time there so it's no wonder that many of my best friends have started as being my co-workers. One's I acually talk to, not like so-and-so i knew in high school, i'm terrible with keeping in touch! I really truely believe that the people you work with make or break your job, and the one's i work closest with definitely make my job. Even when there are issues with other co-workers, we stick together and get each other through it. Here is a pic from Joanna's baby shower, this is most of the "Smith Team" (Carrie was out of town) These are the people that put up with me day in and day out and I love them for it! I couldn't do it without them!
