Tell me how you really feel..

This is a comment that was left on my last post from an anonymous blogger:

"Brooke, look in the mirror you are the perfect example of a ute fan. You lie, you cheat, you back stab, you are an alcoholic, you are a whore. You just don’t get it. I dare you to ask your associates to tell you the truth, no one likes you. You are a manipulating, conniving, lying, evil bitch.

Sorry, the truth hurts."

Wow. Really? All that? Well I'm glad whoever that was got it all off their chest. I only wish whoever let such an "honest" comment out had the balls to put a face on it. If you really hate me that much, don't hide behind the internet. I'm going to assume this is from a disgruntled BYU fan since they say that I'm the perfect example of a Ute fan, and have no clue what the definition of an alcoholic is. I drink socially, that's about it, no alcoholism here. But i'm not here to defend myself. I just thought I'd share this with the world.
This is all just a bunch of sticks and stones.

Why can't we be friends?!

I admit that I may have been a little mad when I wrote my last post. I apologize for some foul language and heat from my heart. What I won't take back is how i honestly feel. I am in no way saying that I'm not going to be friends with any BYU fan. Michelle, I most certainly want to be your friend still. I hate this rivalry because I feel that it clouds fans judgment. When people post things like a sign on a toilet bowl and state that this is the only bowl Utah belongs in, that is not in good fun. I don't take that well (especially after last season). I'm sorry, we still represent the Mountain West Conf. and us doing well is good is good for the whole conference. The same for BYU or TCU or any of us. When one of our teams does well we should all be cheering for our conference. My boss is a great example of that. He is the biggest BYU fan I know, yet I never get any negative comments from him whether Utah is doing well or not, he cheers for Mountain West teams. Why can't we all just get along!? I would like to continue the friendships I have with all my BYU friends, but I will not be friends with people who say they agree with Max Hall, to me that is saying I am classless and rude, which I am not. I'm just a football fan who chooses to wear red instead of blue. And my "GO UTES" signs never say anything bad about any other teams. Lets all have some good sportsmanship and have a clean fun rivalry for heavens sake!

Goodbye Max Hall, ye shall not be missed.

Yesterday was a hard day for myself and all fellow University of Utah fans. But I'll live, there's always next season. That was until today when i saw Gordon Monson's column in the Tribune with Max Hall's comments: "I don't like Utah. In fact, I hate them. I hate everything about them I hate their program, I hate their fans, I have everything. It felt really good to send those guys home. They didn't deserve it. It was our turn, and our turn to win. We deserved it. We played as hard as we could tonight. And it felt really good, again, to send them home, to get them out of here, and so it is a game I will always remember. I think the whole university, their fans, and their organization is classless. They threw beer on my family and stuff last year, and they did a whole bunch of nasty things, and I don't respect them, and they deserve to lose."

Wow. Can the Honor Code control this guy? Has he ever heard of sportsmanship? I personally know that there is bad blood between the teams, that's why I don't go south of Salt Lake County when its football season. I don't agree that Utah fans had any right to be mean to a player's family or any BYU fan for that matter. I certainly don't agree with the BYU fan that assaulted Kyle Whittingham's wife either. How did this get so out of hand?! I have never heard any player talk so openly negative about any team. Most of the BYU fans i've known this year have been awful too! I have never seen digs on BYU like I have this year against Utah. Do you all have such hurt egos that we won last year that you have to put down all of our loses? I didn't see any foul comments from Ute fans when Florida killed BYU this year or about the loss from TCU, but the minute we lose to undefeated TCU its foul comments left and right from BYU fans. What was the BYU website talking about? HONOR?! Holy Lord! Do any of you know what that means?! I'm SOOO glad Hall will be gone next year or I may start to have a real BAD attitude about BYU. He can get the F*CK out with his bad ass attitude. People may not remember all of his turnovers from last year, or that he won the game winning touchdown in overtime this season but i'll surely remember his attitude and foul comments about the Utes. I root for Collie, Krueger and all the players from Utah schools who make it pro but I don't have any good vibes for Max Hall.
And to any of my "facebook friends" who agree with Max Hall, If you all have bad attitudes and hate all Utah fans, then clearly we can't be friends anymore because if you think so poorly about me as a Ute fan then I don't want anything to do with that kind of attitude!
Go Utes for having more class than Max Hall.

Drowning Our Sorrows

A patient brought these doughnuts and root beer in for us (Dr Smith and I) 2 weeks ago after the Utah & BYU loses. They are Boise State fans, and of course they won that week. They said they brought us treats to "Drown our sorrows". Well, at least they're looking out for us right?

Compliments as Hints?

The other day I was feeling pale so I decided to go tanning. I get there and the nice, slightly overweight, teenie bopper employee get my info, figures out a bed for me, then, very genuinely compliments me on how white my teeth are. Now, it's something I've been insecure about because I haven't actually whitened my teeth in a while and I drink diet coke like my life depends on it. (OK I'm actually quite sure my life and those around me are in question when I don't get enough diet coke..) Dark sodas can stain your teeth, I'm not giving it up though! Back to the point here, she compliments my white teeth, we talk about it for a minute then I go to my room, and check out my "white teeth" in the mirror and what do i see?! A freaking piece of broccoli, staring me in the face from my bottom teeth. SHIT! How long has it been there? Clear since my veggie crepe for breakfast!? How many people have I talked to since then? I usually don't talk so big that I reveal my bottom teeth, but could she see it and was just trying to politely worn me? She's an employee at a tanning salon, does she have it in her to be that smooth?!

How many times have I tried to smooth out my appearance before going to public places? ALL THE TIME! Once I was walking into Target and I suddenly had the fear that my fly was down, so I sneakily check it, nope its up, but now my $1 "one-size fits all gloves" (you know, the kind that are knit and you have to stretch them way out to fit them on your hands) gets caught on the zipper! This is in the parking lot of Target! Yes, my glove finger was caught on my zipper, go ahead and laugh. Fortunately I panicked so I had enough strength to rip my glove off my pants.. Hopefully before anyone saw me!
Do embarrassing things like this happen to everyone? Or is it just me?

Happy Birthday Parker!

The 28th was Parker's 25th birthday, his mom was going to take him out to dinner so we tagged along. We have been trying to set his mom up with my uncle for a while so we invited my mom, step dad, and uncle as well.
We went to Pat's BBQ. I'm not a BBQ lover. I don't even really like meat, but this place has pulled pork to die for! Its AMAZING! If you've never been, I'll take you! It's a nice little place to drink and hang out, they have live music and great atmosphere. Here are some pics...

(notice the strategic placement of the heart on the pig's boxers...)

Its even approved by Guy from Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.

This is all of us, notice how we so sneekily placed my uncle and Parker's mom at the end of the table down there together!

My mom and Todd (our server referred to Todd as "Handlebars Harry")

Me and Mike (Mike often makes this gesture with his pinky although he hates Austin Powers so I never really know why he does it?)

After dinner Parker's mom needed to stop at Zurchers to pick up the balloons that Parker's sister ordered for him. (She lives in NYC) She asked if we wanted to wait in the car and we told her no way, party stores are the funnest! Especially when a little alcohol has been consumed!

Mike as a basketball player..

Me and Parker in disguise, only Parker's head is too big and his mask broke while trying to put it on..

Happy Birthday Parker!

Happy Birthday Cody!

The 23rd was my little brother's 23rd birthday! We had a little get together and some yummy Chinese food.

Mckaius is going for the fire!

Wedding Weekend

My cousin Shane got married to his girlfriend Tiffany this past weekend, for some reason I have no pics of them.. Sorry! But with all the family in town, we did some fun stuff together!
We went to Liberty Park and Zeidyn was dangling his feet in the duck pond, he tried to stand up and fell in!

He looks like he doesn't know how he got all wet!

Then we hit the snack shack. Although I do love popcorn, all these are not for me! I have a bunch of napkins and a camera shoved into my pockets and I spilled the drink on me!

Zeidyn was getting cold in his wet clothes so we had to strip him down

Rogan in the Batman plane

Sunday we went to the zoo.

There was a baby girafe

We met a zoo-lady and she was carrying around an owl. It was "enrichment time" for the male snow leapord. She says they need to see animals of prey to keep them on their toes or something. We got a good look at the leapord though. It was something i've never seen at the zoo before, it was freaking amazing.

Tori's Birthday

July 19 was my niece's birthday. She is 5 now are she is hilarious! I love her to death!

Happy Birthday Tori!

My Dad and Mckaius

This pic is funny because it shows the difference in height in my step mom and brother. Looks like she's going to get a neck ache!

Todd's Birthday

My stepdad, Todd's, birthday was July 17 and we celebrated at Olive Garden.

Happy Birthday Tater-Todd!

We never get tired of giving McKaius lemons!

Twiners

We watched Noki while Parker and his mom went to New York over the Fourth of July. They found these cute matching shirts for the boys so we had to try them out!

The Fourth of July

My Dad and step mom invited me to go to Timpanogos Cave so I decided it would be a fun way to spend the day. (Mike was invited too, but didn't want to get out of bed..)
I haven't hiked up to the cave in a while and I had forgotten how hard it is! I was about dead by the time I got to the top, and going down all the steep hills isn't great for the body either. I did have a blast though! Here are some pics!
